Big Tex Synopsis

Big Tex Synopsis

Ok, so imagine this: you are tuning in to a new series on Netflix/Hulu/Peacock/Prime and the credits open on the State Fair of Texas: boots everywhere, horses neighing in their stalls, country music playing.

The show is a high energy screwball comedy with serious emotional integrity, like Barbra Streisand’s 1972 comedy “What’s Up, Doc?” meets The Summer I Turned Pretty.

It’s got Texas roots so deep that everyone from George Strait to Selena Gomez make cameos.

The main character is an aspiring food blogger played by Emily Ann Roberts. Unbeknownst to her, her tech geek dad has been blocking her videos from playing to the world.

Her love interest is a country singer played by Leon Bridges.

The whole thing is narrated by Big Tex (which we don’t reveal until the end!). Big Tex is voiced by the legendary George Strait.

It’s got loads of great music, incredibly food, family antics, big emotions, slapstick comedy, political angst, big heart, a kidnapping, an assassination, terror plots, and gorgeously filmed cinematic angles.

I’m obsessed.
